Art Deco glamour at its very best …right out of The Gilded Age of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby or off of a stage set from a Busby Berkeley 1930’s musical extravaganza. The Hamilton Lobby is “IT” if you seek to be transported to the glittering era of the roaring 1920’s and the glamorous 1930’s.
This magnificent space has been painstakingly restored by a San Francisco architect who designed the new fireplace, the glass door to the adjacent new Courtyard and Art Deco fountain, and designed eleven new 5-foot long handcrafted bronze and etched glass Art Deco chandeliers. They are truly one-of-a-kind. All of the original and unique Art Deco detailing remains and has been restored. The space possesses restored decorative combed plaster walls with elaborated decorative mouldings in metallic finishes.
The lobby is enlivened by gold and silver accented fluted columns, and original ornamental Art Deco metal grill panels over the mid-portion of the windows, the grills include classic deco patterns such as banana leaves and palm fawns. Floor to ceiling windows and doors front the Fountain Courtyard in the rear, and open to O’Farrell Street at the front.
The lobby measures 51.5 ft. by 24 ft. (1,236 sq. ft.) and is furnished with a grand piano, sofas and leather club chairs and wall to wall Art Deco carpeting with a stylized palm motif. There are restored bathrooms conveniently located nearby. A 24 hr doorman / security guard is seated at the entry to add convenience, directions and security to any event.

This unique room was the luxury dinning room of the former Alexander Hamilton Hotel. It was one of the finest hotels on Nob Hill. The room still retains its 1920s / 30s charm and has been recently restored. The Hamilton Ballroom retains all of its original Art Deco detailing from elaborate mouldings, gold-silver accented fluted columns, hard wood floors (ideal for dancing) and floor to ceiling doors and windows which look out onto the Art Deco Courtyard and new fountain.
The Ballroom space is left mostly empty in order for you to plan your special event per your own vision. The only furniture in the room is a grand piano, which may be used for events, or it can be removed if it does not fit into the occasion. Also available for use are 75 deco styled chairs, several folding tables and some decorative revolving dance lights if they are desired.
The Ballroom measures 47.5 ft. by 28 ft, (1,330 sq. ft.) and the room has 11 ft. ceilings with classic Art Deco lighting globes on a bronze stem. These fixtures are dimmable for flexible lighting. The Ballroom works for a variety of events and can be arranged in a number of ways to accommodate up to 140 people.
An immediately adjacent caterer-staging kitchen is available with stainless steel work tables, refrigerator/freezer, warming/baking oven, microwave and 12 separate electric circuits. Recent upgrades to the electrical service can accommodate all your catering needs.Other amenities include a separate staff restroom as well as redecorated separate men’s’ and women’s Art Deco restrooms adjacent to the Ballroom. More pictures can be seen here.

The Hamilton Fountain Courtyard is a serene secluded oasis in the middle of downtown San Francisco. Surrounded by a 10ft. tall ivy covered fence and a large illuminated tree, it was recently restored and a new fountain was added. The central 10 ft. by 12 ft. Art Deco fountain is trimmed in black granite and black and white checked mosaic tile. There are a dozen other small ornamental trees and shrubs that add a festive flair to the venue. The courtyard measures 34 ft. by 82 ft. (2,788 sq. ft.) and processes a non-slip, black and white Art Deco floor pattern.
This outdoor space is secluded from the wind, yet open to sunshine. A convenient aspect of the Fountain Courtyard is that there are large glass doors accessing the space from both the Hamilton Lobby and the Hamilton Ballroom, making it easy to easily utilize all three spaces for an event. An added plus is that there is a side access walkway linking the courtyard directly to the street for easy entry and exit or as a discreet service entry point.

This space is also for rent for film and photo shoots, as a marketing backdrop, and for select small events on a case by case basis. Newly restored, the sundeck's black and white floor relates directly to the Art Deco-style pattern on the lower patio. The restoration also includes a new raised bed planter and rock Zen garden as well as decorative palm trees at the other end of the deck. The star of the show is the 180 degree view, but the well appointed heavy black metal furniture with black and white cushions adds sophistication and style.

This is a venue specifically set aside for small groups only and is located on the second floor in a former meeting space of the hotel. The space possesses much of it original detailing. It is a quiet, light-filled space that is easily accessible, just right for a small meeting.
